1. You have to determine what style of wedding you want. Formal, informal, location wedding, etc... Once you determine this then you have to look at budget and go from there. I would think that it would like planning any other wedding. Best wishes on your wedding!

After that you can look to bride magazines for ideas on favors and cakes, or hire a planner. You may want to interview a few first to make sure that they have the same idea as you.

5. go to your local registry office...thats what you do in england - they are all geared up for civil partnerships now..and will give you all of the advice you need...dont worry...its probably just the same as a hetrosexual wedding...bloody nerve wracking but nice when its all over and the champagne flows!!
