Who should pay for a lesbian wedding? I assumed since I did the asking and since my little Aussie sweetheart agreed to move to New York to be with me, that I would pay for everything. But, I just called my mother to tell her the date was set and she told me that she and my father would like to pay for the whole thing. I don't know how I feel about this since she paid for my first wedding to my husband who I am still married to. Is there some sort of lesbian etiquette that I don't know about?
What do I say in a lesbian wedding card? A dear friend of mine is having a lesbian marriage. I speak with her on occasion since we live on two different sides of the world. I thought it would be easier to write her a card but I came up blank . I don't want it to seem to personal and I think them getting married it great. Yet, I don't want it to sound trashy or common. Any advice on writing it or what do I write?

My parents are going to a lesbian wedding- clothing question.? Yes it's true. My parents who are amazing people at 84 and 86 are going to a lesbian wedding. They went to the shower and met other gay couples. They are cool about it; my mom is looking forward to it. For an afternoon affair how dressed up should my parents be? I doubt it's formal. Kidding of course, but I was going to suggest something in early UPS.
What should i write in a wedding card for a lesbian couple? I want to write something really nice. Its for my half sister. Any ideas would be appreciated. Im sorry but i think you have all gotten the wrong impression. I know i should write the same as a hetro couple but i dont even know what id write for a hetro couple either. And im not actually going to be at the wedding. just thought it would be nice to send a card.

Gay and Lesbian Wedding Jewelry? Does anyone know the name of the Jeweler (featured in the Advocate a few months ago), to get wedding bands? Lesbian Wedding Planner with a Client Against Gay Marriage? So I am a wedding planner and I have been working with a bride for a couple months though her wedding isn't for a year from now. I just found out from her online profile that she voted against gay marriage in the past California election. Being a lesbian and in the process of planning my own wedding, this really bothers me. However, I also find this as an opportunity to educate someone on gay rights. I'm not sure what to do. Should I say anything? Any advice? She is a really sweet girl and I am super excited to plan this wedding. It sounds so much fun but I am really offended by her views. I was just reading more on her profile and saw a comment where she says she "obviously hates gays." I am really upset about this and not sure what to.
A Lesbian wedding planner planning a Catholic wedding? I am just beginning a new career as a wedding planner. I just began communication with my first couple. I found out that it is a Catholic wedding in a Catholic church. I am a non religious lesbian. I'm not sure if I should even bother telling them or if they'd even care. I hope this doesn't make me sound like a bigot or anything like that. I just don't want to be deceiving yet I also don't want to lose this opportunity in case they are bigots. But then, if they are bigots, I don't want to work with them. Is it even appropriate to tell them I am a lesbian. I am so confused!

Need help with Lesbian Wedding? I am starting to look into expenses for a Lesbian Wedding. I am not getting married until April 2012 but considering we will have to travel to Canada, we should start saving now! I am looking for advice and suggestions because I seem utterly lost! Any gay/lesbian couples that have gotten married in Canada or married at all, your help would be greatly appreciated! Please keep rude comments to yourself! They will be a waste of both our time! It IS different. Yes my wedding will be as traditional as possible but I CANT get married in Texas... where I was born & raised because my state thinks they have the right to tell me that I can’t be with the person I love because we are both the same sex. The question is for CANADIAN weddings... like where to go to file for wedding papers, what locations are GAY friendly.... it’s nice to hear from a Lesbian who has been down this road. If you are an accepting person than AWESOME but not everyone is. It’s nice to know in advance from someone where to go to feel treated EQUALLY. I commend those who said “aren’t weddings the same” on their acceptance of those who are different but please don’t get on your soap box and preach. For those that gave advice, I appreciate doing as though I requested.
What name do we take if we are having a lesbian wedding? My partner and I are having a ceremony in December. Even though it won't be legal- UNFORTUNATLY! we still plan on acting like any other couple would once they are married. Mrs. will be included in everything, and if we have the option of putting our status on paperwork for whatever reason, I will put MARRIED... but how does the whole last name thing work? We can't legally change our names to include the others last name, or could we? Are we just going to be the "her last name, hypen, my last name"?
I'm getting married! Lesbian wedding questions...? My girlfriend and I are getting married... and we have absolutely no idea how to do it. We're both femme for the most part, me more so, so I'm definately going to be the bride. My fiancée is also very femme, but more butch than I am. Should she be the groom or be another bride? If she's the groom, can she still wear a dress? How does this all work, because I have absolutely no idea how a lesbian wedding works? If you write anything hateful or gay-bashing, you will be reported, no exceptions!

Who Am I obligated to invite to a Lesbian Wedding and Reception? Just a Caveat: If you are against Gay/Lesbian Marriage I dont care. Im not asking your opinion on whether you are for or against it. Anyway.. So my girlfriend of 3 years and i recently got engaged. It is not legal in Michigan (where we live) but we still want to do the whole wedding thing and have a nice ceremony and a reception with our friends and family. Being that we have some family members/family friends who are either not aware of our lifestyles or are not totally in agreement with our lifestyles we dont know whether or not we should invite them. If we were a straight couple it would be no big deal but neither of us want anyone celebrating our special day with people who do not take our relationship seriously or even see us as a real couple. Should we still invite these people knowing they probably wont come, or should we just invite the people who mean a lot to us and accept us knowing the uninvited guests will find out about it through word of mouth anyway? I dont want to offend any one but it is our ceremony and our money we are spending. What should i do? ONLY serious responses and please please do not lecture me on how much you hate the gays. It does not affect me. Thank you :) I should add, all my friends and intermeddiate family know. (aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents). Its just our extended family who we dont really see often at all who dont know or may not be supportive.

What two titles should be used at a lesbian wedding? In traditional weddings you have the Bride and the Groom. Well, if it's a lesbian wedding, it's Bride and Bride... but then that gets confusing, because you don't know which bride is being indicated. Any ideas of alternate titles that can be used to distinguish the parties? I'm not trying to be traditional. It's just that she has chosen to wear a suit, and she has also chosen her "groomsmen", though most are not men at all. And well, I was just looking for another term for Groom and groomsmen. Thank you all for your advice, but I figured it out on my own. We are having a medieval themed-wedding, so it occurred to me that there's plenty of titles to go around. I went with non-gender specific titles such as Your Royal Majesty, Royal Regent, Your Grace, etc. :) Thanks again!
How do I get my parents to come to a lesbian wedding? I am a lesbian and have been for several years. My girlfriend and I have been together 4 years and are planning a wedding for next year June. I tried talking to my mother about coming and she said she probably wont because she don't agree with it. How do I get my parents to come to the one special day for me? I mean its killing me inside knowing my parents wont be at their only daughters wedding. They have known that I wanted to marry my girlfriend for years. Now that the date has been set they don't want to come. I mean I am really happy and I love my girlfriend more than anything. I just wish my parents would be there. Especially my mother who has been fighting cancer for 3 years. I just want her to see me walk down the Aisle I have told them that it is important to me and they say that because its against their religion they can't come watch me marry another women. Thank you all for your answers. I do wish my parents would be there, but your right I am living with my partner not my parents. I love her with all my heart and Im not going to let this stop me from living my life with happiness. I will still wish that my parents would come. But I am going to just keep my girlfriend and my love for her in mind.
